You will need to book a visit in advance using their online booking system. When you arrive at any of the Southampton tips above, the mattress can be disposed of into the non-recyclable waste container.
2. Get Zero Waste to collect your mattress
If you cannot take a mattress to your local tip, there are a couple of services available to which you can a small fee.

If you live inside the city boundaries, Southampton City Council offer a bulky waste collection service for those classed as resident households, but not businesses. They will collect and dispose of your mattress, but it can cost up to £30.
It’s worth noting that Southampton council will refuse to collect and disposes of mattresses that have been left out in the rain when it’s become wet or too heavy to lift.
