You will need to book a visit in advance using their online booking system. When you arrive at any of the Portsmouth tips above, the mattress can be disposed of into the non-recyclable waste container.

2. Get Zero Waste to collect your mattress

If you cannot take a mattress to your local tip, there are a couple of services available to which you can a small fee.

It’s worth noting that Portsmouth council will refuse to collect and disposes of mattresses that have been left out in the rain when it’s become wet or too heavy to lift.
